Sig Sauer’s MPX delivers versatility, reliability, and is ready for competitions right out of the box. Designed with professional input, the MPX utilizes a gas-operated short-stroke piston system that helps cut down on recoil and carbon fouling, as well as a fully locked and closed rotating bolt system for maximum safety in case of bullet or water obstruction in the bore. The MPX is equipped with a low profile handguard that offers the same feel of an M4, with lightening cuts to reduce weight and help vent off the heat generated from prolonged firing. In terms of customization, the MPX is outfitted with M-LOK attachment points in the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions to allow a wide assortment of accessories to be installed, and a flattop picatinny rail on the receiver and end of the handguard accomadates the use of optics and iron sights.
Other features of the MPX includes fully ambidextrous AR-style controls, and a Magpul MOE SL-K stock which is collapsible and foldable. In addition, the MPX’s barrel is topped with a 3-chamber compensator to greatly mitigate recoil and muzzle rise, and a flared magazine well is included to speed up reloads.
